Satisfaction

Apr 16, 2021

Hey family! Joshua here. This morning in prayer, yet again, I felt impressed to share this with you as God was speaking to me about my own life.

Philippians 3:8 AMP
But more than that, I count everything as loss compared to the priceless privilege and supreme advantage of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord [and of growing more deeply and thoroughly acquainted with Him—a joy unequaled]. For His sake I have lost everything, and I consider it all garbage, so that I may gain Christ,

What is the seat of your satisfaction? What CAN'T you do without? The value of fasting can be triggered with that very question.

Many of us have made coffee the engineer of our mood. We’ve allowed ‘answers’ to questions or prayers to be the catalyst of our agreement with God’s rest reserved for us.

We’ve put conditions on our lives to receive God’s unconditional love. We’ve magnified the importance of being heard, getting our point across, or protecting our reputation above our silent confidence in Him. All in all, these are just forms of pride and insecurity.

How can this be? It’s because our standard of satisfaction has been the conduit of our satiation. When ‘my thirst’ for ‘that thing’ is fulfilled, I’ll be quenched enough to just bask in the exquisite nature of God’s presence. But until then, I NEED God to answer: (insert prayer here.)

Can you do without ‘that thing’? What if God, in His will for you saw that what you were asking Him to relieve you of, you were better with? Or the thing you wanted, you were better without?!

When will we decide, “I can do without it all. Jesus, you’re enough.”?

God is just as much God in the “NO” as He is in the “YES!” And He’s Just. He withholds no good thing to those who walk upright. (Psalm 84:11)

The great thing about our Father is He’s actually more than enough.

I like what David said in Psalm 23… “My cup runneth over!”

He’s a more than enough God!

He alone is the filler of all voids. He brings truth to the crevices of our soul that we know not of.

He brings perspective, advice, and conversation that sets us up for perpetual success.

Most of all, I believe when we let go of it all FOR Him, we gain it all IN Him. Jesus said, "For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it." Matthew 16:25

May the joy of knowing Him alone be unequal to the gold of this world.

The invaluable camaraderie communicated through His smile toward you is the definition of satisfaction.

Engage in the secret place of His desire to meet you there. May the seat of your satisfaction be enthroned with Christ alone.

Blessings family! I hope this blessed you and sharpened you.

My warmest love and regard,

Joshua
