Expectations

Jun 3, 2021

Greetings family! Joshua here. I hope your week is progressing peacefully as the Lord's hand is upon you graciously with clarity, peace, and direction.

May the Lord of the breakthrough meet you right where you are, intervening with His grace in your favor. May His hand defeat and confound any plan of the enemy against you, today in the mighty name of Jesus.

On Tuesday, I ministered a word about Expectations and the Lord has continued to minister to me on the subject. Today, I wanted to share with you what He so graciously shared with me.

Psalm 62:5-6 KJV
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

As I mentioned on Tuesday, I've been consistently disappointed by people because I "expected" them to either; keep their word, act a certain way, or just be nice! But the Lord spoke to me in a time of frustration and said, "Drop your expectations." He told me my expectation should solely be in Him as His word says.

Over the last few days, I continued to meditate on my "expectations."

I understood the concept in my spirit but I wanted the Lord to that much more expound on it practically so I could know it and teach it more efficiently.

What about my wife? My kids? My friends? The people around me? If my expectation is ONLY in Him, how could depend on anyone?

The Lord began to expound on it this morning.

"Because your expectation is in Me, you can trust that I'll lead you to people who can be trusted."

So, if my wife does something and it hurts me, I can think to myself, "God, you said she's the one for me. I trust that even though this may be challenging, you saw this matter and we'll get through it."

Why?

Well, why would I expect God to lead me to a marriage for it to fail? You see, ultimately, my expectation is in Him and that He saw all of the ups and the downs and wouldn't tell me to get into a covenant that was destined to fail.

Yes, I know, each scenario can be different; a job, career, family member, court, etc.

But if God is for you and your expectation is in Him, don't expect anything but VICTORY!

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Expect your victory, always! Expect triumph, always! God cannot fail and He never will. I ask you today...

Is your expectation solely in Him?

I pray this blessed you...
